Road Trip through Oregon Day 7 - Newport to Arch Cape

We are now at our beautiful hotel in Newport Beach, Oregon. To see our earlier days, please go to: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6

For breakfast, we decided on the super popular, Chalet Restaurant & Bakery. They have amazing breakfast and pies!

There are 3 pie display cases like this one:

After breakfast, we visited the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.

There are some beautiful hikes here.

Next we went to the Yaquina Bay area, where there are miles of beach.

Back to the hotel, we got some complimentary coffee and relaxed from all our hikes.

Oceanside is home to Tunnel Beach, where there is a tunnel, on the beach, and you can come out the other side for more ocean and beach.

Next we drove by Tillamook, the creamery, but decided not to stop... This is a good stop if you like ice cream and milk.

Last stop, Netarts.

Netarts, Oregon

Tonight, we are staying at Arch Cape Inn. This is a very small town. We stopped here because it's a very pretty area and I didn't want to have to drive all the way up to Cannon Beach just yet.

Arch Cape Inn

This is a Bed & Breakfast and our room is super nice. As soon as we checked in, we were given a charcuterie plate with wine.

For dinner, we went to Driftwood Restaurant, so I ended up having to drive to Cannon Beach anyway - I didn't realize when I booked that there aren't any restaurants in Arch Cape...

Wedge Salad

Oyster shooter

Clam Chowder

Northwest seafood stew

Fried Oysters

Apple Pie w/Tillamook Ice Cream

This was definitely our worst meal of this whole trip. The food wasn't memorable except for my fried oysters, which tasted really off and got me sick after. The apple pie and Tillamook ice cream was definitely the best part of the meal. After dinner while walking to our car, we saw a family of elks!

On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at Hug Point. Unfortunately, I forgot to look for the waterfall here and didn't see it.
