Today we are heading to Newport, Oregon. Check out the rest of the trip: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5.
We woke up for a wonderful homemade breakfast at Campbell House Inn. I got the vegetables and eggs option. Teddy got the pancakes option.

All served with scone and fruits.
We say goodbye to our room, which is genuinely quite large with a big whirlpool tub, although a small shower. And now heading towards Newport. Our first stop is the University of Oregon Hayward stadium.

This was a beautiful area as we walked around the whole stadium. Next, we visited one of the Duck stores for some team gear.
Next up, the Autzen Stadium where the football games are held.
All their facilities are beautiful. Next we head towards Newport, Oregon, with a stop at the Sea Lion Caves.

About Sea Lion Caves... I will say this. This place is a tourist trap. Did I think our stop was worth it? Well, kind of. I recommend a stop, but I don't think it's necessary to pay the entrance fee to go down the elevator to see the ONE single sea lion we got to see inside the cave. We asked the nice lady at the ticket office if there are sea lions in there, and she did tell us there's only one, but we figured we'll probably never be back and they have a small military discount so we went for it. Once we saw the single sea lion, I immediately felt duped. Here's the thing. I really don't even know if that sea lion is real. Imagine if she said there's 0 sea lions in the cave. We wouldn't have bought the tickets! That sea lion NEVER MOVED. Not once the whole time we were down there. There are other sea lions around the ocean, which you can see without paying to go down to the caves, which makes this stop worthwhile, but the money spent? Not really worth it.
Getting down into the cave:
The one and only sea lion that is in the cave which never moved:
A hole from inside the cave:
Outside the cave where you can see quite a few sea lions:
Besides the low number of sea lions inside the cave (which probably has to do with the time of year), this area was also EXTREMELY windy, making walking around almost impossible (which probably also has to do with the time of year). Visitor beware. It's undoubtedly a beautiful area though.
One more shot of the cave itself since we paid money for that:
Back on the road, we made a quick stop at Bob Creek.

At Yachats, we decided to make a quick stop for some Clam Chowder.

Clam Chowder is easy to find around here. This was amazing and right on the water. Back on the road, we stopped at Seal Rock.

Now we are finally at our hotel - we kind of made extra stops along the way to burn some time intentionally. Our hotel tonight is the very reasonably priced Hallmark Resort Newport. It's oceanfront with awesome ocean view from every room.
Our balcony:
Cute little kitchenette (there's another bigger TV in the living room):
